NEW YEAR WEATHER

With the hope for lots of Spring colour, these images nail the grayscale of winter weather.   The photo on left was taken by my cousin last Dec of Philosopher's Walk in Central Park nyc.  I initially thought it was a postcard of an illustration by Jorge Colombo (above on right) for the New Yorker Jan 2012.  No, my cousin says he took the photo with his iphone.  And in fact, Colombo, is known and famous for doing the same.  http://www.jorgecolombo.com   Both have the same eerie silhouette lighting.  Colombo's is looking out somewhere on 23rd street, but no matter whether Philosopher's Walk, 23rd or north of the 49th parallel  in Canada on the north shore of Lake Erie, the weather has been damn cold of late.   There is a thaw at the end of this lovely grey tunnel of trees.
