Have a Merry Werry Holiday

Block and tackle looks a bit convoluted on this old sailing schooner but the various black circular blocks hold it all together and keep the mast upright.  I have three of these blocks carved from lignum vitae with forged iron shafts which I found at an antique shop in Toronto.  Probably from England, the shop owner referred to them as 'werry wheels' - not sure why.  Lignum vitae is impervious to rot and translates  "the tree of life".  With all those good qualities in mind, we at the Brave Brown Bag wish all a 'worry' free holiday and a wonderful New Year!
